On Thursday, February 9, world renowned parenting expert, Dr. David Walsh, will conduct a free two hour workshop in Columbia, Missouri. With a list of credentials a mile long, Dr. Walsh has been leading the conversation about the ways technology affects children for more than 15 years.
As the author of nine books, a frequent guest on national television shows and a consultant to international organizations, Dr. Walsh is also considered to be an entertaining speaker.
The Columbia Cares For Kids Coalition is hosting Dr. Walsh at Smithton Middle School this Thursday. The topic of this talk centers around how understanding exactly how the human brain works can help us be better parents.
The first 200 guests to arrive (the talk starts at 6:30 p.m.) will receive a free copy of Dr. Walsh’s latest book Smart Parenting, Smarter Kids.
I admit that I have not read any of Dr. Walsh’s books before. However, I recently read another book connecting how the brain works with parenting ideas. I gleaned insight not only into helping my kids behave better, but also checking my own behavior (I was almost perfect before – now I am just that much closer!).
I am looking forward to hearing Dr. Walsh’s take on this same issue. Oh, and if I can get a free book … well, nothing makes this cheap Mama happier than something that is free, free, free.
