CoMo Tech: Jerry Gamblin

Who are you?

I am an equal mix between Michael Scott, Dwight Schrute, and Charlie Brown.

What do you do for money?

I am in charge of network security for the Missouri House of Representatives.

What do you do for fun?

I have a two year old son so I read a lot of books about farm animals that get lost and then found again. Seriously, if you have an hour pick up a copy of “Little Puppy Lost” and read it 8 times in a row. It will speak to you!

I used to have adult hobbies like golf, scuba and shooting.

I would characterize my relationship with technology as:

Let’s just say… I love it way more than it loves me on most days.

Smart or dumb phone? What kind? If smart, what are the three apps you use most?

Smart Phone. HTC Inspire 4G.

  1. Tweetdeck
  2. Mail
  3. Connectbot

Mac or PC or Other?

All three? I am a right tool for the right job kind of guy.

I use twitter for …

Networking, news gathering and telling the occasional “that’s what she said” joke.

I use facebook for …

Passive-aggressively reading and judging other people’s passive-aggressive post about their families, jobs and loved ones.

Do you read any blogs? What are three of your favorites?

I only read blogs when someone tweets a link to them. Does that make me a bad person?

Go-to menu item and restaurant in CoMo?

5 pounds of Hot Wings and a couple of things of Curly Fires at CJ’s Hotwings.

Complete this sentence: Archers of Loaf is:

someone’s favorite band who is using this question to increase their search engine exposure artificially? Is it working?

Friends are visiting from out-of-town. You’re for-sure taking them to:

To the top of the Capitol. It’s a great way to show off the capitol and Jefferson City.

My second-favorite city/town/hamlet/state/country/province in the world is:

I am over 30 so I get a little leeway with questions like this. So I am going to go with a generic “Anywhere my family and friends are is where I would be the happiest”, or Key West, FL.

Thanks, Jerry!
