CoMo Tech: Jonathan Sessions

@JSesh

Who are you? Columbia Public School Board Member Jonathan Sessions

Jonathan Sessions

What do you do for money?

I’m a managing partner of Tech 2, a Columbia technology management and consultation firm. We solve problems.

What do you do for fun?

I’ve been teaching myself the banjo and mandolin. Progress has slowed since being elected to the school board.

I would characterize my relationship with technology as:

Love/Hate

Smart or dumb phone? What kind? If smart, what are the three apps you use most?

iPhone. I’m not sure if it’s dumb or smart. Text Messaging, Email and Calendar are where I live. My game selections are always changing. Right now, I’m really into Tiny Wings, Sword & Sworcery, and NBA JAM.

Mac or PC or Other?

My computers are Macs; My servers are Linux.

I use twitter for …

keeping up on the news and trends, sharing information about the Columbia Public Schools.

I use facebook for …

keeping up with friends and family, and sharing information about the Columbia Public Schools. I’m way behind on checking Facebook messages though.

Do you read any blogs? What are three of your favorites? Engadget.com, Gizmodo.com, tuaw.com Go-to menu item and restaurant in CoMo?

Cheeseburger with everything at Booches

Complete this sentence: Archers of Loaf is/are:

featured in my music collection, but been a while since they’ve been played …

Friends are visiting from out-of-town. You’re for-sure taking them to:

Columbia Landmarks: Booches, Shakespeare’s, Mugs-Up, Murry’s

My second-favorite city/town/hamlet/state/country/province in the world is:

Hard to say. I love Charleston, SC. It’s a beautiful town. Also, Chicago, New York, & Washington DC. Urban living with quality public transportation is my preferred style.

Thanks, Jonathan!

CoMo Tech will be a regular feature on The CoMo Collective. Beginning Tuesday, June 7th, CoMo Tech will spotlight how a wise, local folk uses his or her tech powers for good (or evil) every Tuesday and Thursday. To kick off the feature, we’re doing a whole bunch on the dates listed below. If you have someone you’d like to be featured in CoMo Tech, please let us know!

Comments

  1. Major props for actually owning some Archers of Loaf. Too bad there wasn’t more offered. Still, I’d vote for Sessions again.
