Who are you?
What do you do for money?
What do you do for fun?
Spend time with my husband (the funniest man alive) and my four twerps. I really love dates with my husband. Those happen about twice a year. It’s a good thing he makes the monotony of daily life fun. He stays home with the kids. My workday ends by 12pm. Most days we enjoy lunch and dinner together (as much as you can enjoy a meal with three little ones at home). He makes the BEST chicken salad in the world, for lunch at least once-a-week. During the week we juggle drop-off and pick-up from: kindergarten, preschool, and Mothers’ Morning Out. On the weekends we chase our twerps and shuttle them to soccer and T-ball. We are also trying to squeeze in excursions around Tulsa, to learn more about our new hometown. We’re frequent visitors to the Oklahoma Aquarium and the Tulsa Zoo. We’ve also checked out the Philbrook Museum of Fine Art and Oxley Nature Center. There are still a TON of places to discover. We lived in Columbia for more than a decade, and were still discovering new “favorite” places. We loved Tiger football games, walks around the MU campus and trips to Rock Bridge State Park.
I would characterize my relationship with technology as:
only slightly dysfunctional. I wish I had a better mastery of the tools that are available to me. I LOVE facebook and twitter. Personally, we’ve found that it’s a snap to live without cable television at home, but we could NEVER give up our high speed internet connection. It’s worth every penny. I keep a personal blog, to stay connected with family and friends.
Smart or dumb phone? What kind? If smart, what are the three apps you use most?
The phone is smart. The owner? Not so much. I have an HTC EVO. I think that’s what it’s called. I’m not crazy about touch screen, for texting. My husband swears by his Blackberry. I used to have a Palm pre. I hated that keyboard. The app I use the most is DEFINITELY Sprint Navigation! Living in a new city, I rely VERY heavily on GPS! Facebook and twitter are the other two apps that I use. Does Google calendar count as an app? I use that like crazy! I might be addicted to the calendar feature. It’s hard to believe that as little as two years ago, I used to lug around a dayplanner, and I’d handwrite all of my appointments! There’s no way I could do that now, with work commitments, personal appointments, AND all of my kids’ activities.
Mac or PC or Other?
We have a PC, actually two, laptops, at home.
I use Twitter for:
work, primarily. I typically tweet local (Tulsa) news headlines. Once in a while I throw in a story that’s a “talker”.
I use Facebook for:
work and fun. I have a work page and a personal page. I use my work page to engage viewers and promote special pieces. I use my personal page to keep in touch with all of my friends back in Columbia, and my family in St. Louis.
Do you read any blogs? What are three of your favorites?
I read lots of “mommy” blogs. Many of them are written by my friends. Here are my three favorites:
Go-to menu item and restaurant in CoMo?
I miss so many things!!! I love the pretzels and tomato bisque soup at Flat Branch. I can’t believe you’re making me pick ONE thing. I miss the sushi at Osaka. I miss the nachos at Addison’s. I miss the pepperjack cheese and tomato pizza at Shakespeare’s. I miss the entire menu at Chris McD’s- it’s the best kept secret in Columbia.
Complete this sentence: Archers of Loaf is/are:
something I’ve never heard of.
Friends are visiting from out-of-town. You’re for-sure taking them to:
Hmm… I’m guessing you mean they’re visiting Columbia… I’m taking them to a Tiger football game, Shakespeare’s, McGinty’s Pub, Flat Branch, Rock Bridge State Park, and the MU Campus. If you mean friends are visiting us here… then we’re taking them to the Oklahoma Aquarium, the Tulsa Zoo, a Tulsa Drillers game, Joe Momma’s Pizza, Fat Guys Burger Bar, Webers Grill, and Wolfgang Puck.
My second-favorite city/town/hamlet/state/country/province in the world is:
What? I have to pick Tulsa, as my FIRST favorite city, because I live here now. That’s a really tough call, though, because I LOVE LOVE LOVE Columbia. I guess it’s my second favorite.
