Family Fun: Creative Days Art Studio

Imagine a place where your child’s creativity can go wild, craft supplies are never-ending, and messes are not only forgiven but encouraged. Best of all? It’s not at your house!

Creative Days Art Studio is a parent’s dream come true. Run by sisters, Katy & Cristy, the studio gives children the opportunity to craft, create, paint, mold, draw, string, build, cut, punch, tear, glitter, glue–you name it, they can do it!

Katy and Cristy both have a background in early childhood, elementary and secondary education, and they are AMAZING with the kids. I feel like I learn a new parenting technique from them every time I visit.

My son and I went for some Open Studio Time last weekend. I’m always impressed with Katy and Cristy’s energy and creativity. When my four-year-old asked to make a train, Katy didn’t miss a beat and helped him build one from discarded boxes, bottle caps and a toilet paper roll. We also made birthday cards, painted a picture, played with blocks, and took a spin on the Bilibos that are available at the studio. All within an hour!

In addition to Open Studio Time, they also offer classes, play date hosting, summer camps and birthday parties! They even have a special kid-free option for grown-ups called Young-At-Art, where you and your group can have the whole studio to yourselves to work on a fun project (Katy & Cristy will even help you with craft ideas).

The creative side of me loves how Katy & Cristy display artwork they create, or sometimes left there by other creative individuals. There is no shortage of colorful, beautiful craft ideas scattered about the studio and I can’t wait to gather a group to do the adult Young-At-Art time so that mommy can get her craft on as well!

If you’ve never been, what are you waiting for? Pack up your kiddo (or borrow one if you have to!) and head over to Creative Days Art Studio. They’re open 10-4 Tuesday thru Friday and 10-2 on Saturday.

While you’re there, make sure to stop by to feed & pet the┬ámascot, Sergeant Pepper, a quiet and curious guinea pig!
