Fort Saskatchewan tackles mental health through comedy show

The City of Fort Saskatchewan's Family and Community Support Services are inviting everyone to a comedy show to help tackle mental health.

The Blue Monday Comedy show is on January 15 at the Dow Centennial Centre, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m., and will feature a variety of performers bringing an evening of humour and camaraderie to the community, while also support local mental health programs.

The show features emcee Sean Lecomber and will bring in comedians Mike Lynch, Kathleen McGee, and Celeste Lampa, before ending with headliner Kelly Taylor.

The show is 18+ and costs $5 a ticket, which can be purchased at the Dow Centennial Centre's front desk, or at Ticketpro. All proceeds from ticket sales will be going towards mental health programming in the community.

‘Blue Monday' falls on the third Monday of January and acknowledges the effect of post-holiday blues, and other winter-related factors that contribute to poor mental health, such as seasonal affective disorder.

The show is sponsored by Inter Pipeline.
